Postdoc in Plant Biology, Laboratory of Membrane Biogenesis, France

PhD Open Position in Organic Chemistry, CNRS, France

Postdoc in Plant Biology: A postdoctoral position is available in the field of plant biology at the Laboratory of Membrane Biogenesis (UMR5200) in the context of the ERC project ‘LIP-ATG.’ The project focuses on studying the implication of lipids and membrane remodeling during plant autophagy. The successful candidate will contribute to the characterization of the molecular mechanisms underlying autophagy dynamics.

Designation: Postdoc

Research Area: Integrative Plant Biology

Location: Villenave d’Ornon

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Niveau 8 – Doctorate degree in a relevant field
  • 1 to 4 years of research experience
  • Strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and genetics
  • Solid experience in plant biology, including the culture and generation of transgenic plants and plant physiology
  • Proficiency in experimental approaches, including fluorescent microscopy, electron microscopy, and lipid analyses
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members

Job Description:

  • Conduct research in the frame of an ERC project on plant autophagy
  • Study the implication of lipids and membrane remodeling in autophagosome formation
  • Generate gain- and loss-of-function transgenic mutant lines of Arabidopsis
  • Perform multiscale phenotypic characterization of Arabidopsis mutants
  • Conduct in vivo studies of protein localization and membrane dynamics
  • Perform ultrastructural analyses of autophagy compartments using electron microscopy and tomography
  • Conduct lipid analyses to understand their functional contribution in autophagy dynamics
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory of Membrane Biogenesis team members and contribute to the ERC ‘LIP-ATG’ project
