Job Description
The postdoc will be responsible for:
- Implementing automated high-throughput procedures for the characterization of plant cell walls, including carbohydrate linkage analysis.
- Employing chemical and enzymatic decomposition methodologies.
- Conducting targeted enzymatic degradation using CAZymes for structural insight.
- Teaching at the BSc and MSc levels, training new group members and visitors, and co-supervising selected students and PhD scholars.
Research Focus
The project aims to establish procedures for investigating structural components in faba beans and correlating results with plant genetics and protein digestibility data, as part of the “N2CROP – Legume innovation for future agri-food systems” initiative.
Eligibility/Qualification
Candidates must possess:
- A PhD degree in biotechnology, plant science, biochemistry, or related fields.
- Practical experience in chromatographical method development.
- A proven publication record with at least two first-author papers involving carbohydrate analytics, ideally mass spectrometry.
- Skills in HPAEC-PAD and LC-MS operations.
- Basic knowledge of CAZyme classification principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a self-driven research capability.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
