Eligibility/Qualification

  • A completed doctoral degree, or an equivalent foreign qualification, by the appointment decision date.
  • Preference for applicants whose doctoral degree was obtained within three years prior to the application deadline.
  • Required Experience:
  • Culturing Helicobacter pylori, focusing on outer membrane proteins and their gene regulation.
  • Molecular biology techniques for assessing gene expression.
  • Co-culture of H. pylori with other bacteria and/or host cells.
  • Expression and characterization of bacterial outer membrane proteins in various systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong motivation with capabilities to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A good publication record and experience of international collaborations.

Job Description

The position focuses on the characterization of a newly discovered ancient ecospecies of Helicobacter pylori identified in regions with high gastric cancer risk. Key duties include:

  • Characterizing outer membrane proteins involved in host-microbe interaction.
  • Analyzing microbial adhesion and the ability to bind host cell ligands.
  • Collaborating in a young, dynamic, and international environment while contributing to multiple projects.
