Postdoc in RNA Biology: The University of Copenhagen’s Department of Biology is seeking a highly talented postdoctoral researcher for a dynamic research opportunity within the Sandelin group. This 2-year position, starting March 1, 2024, or soon thereafter, focuses on an interdisciplinary project exploring the impact of chemical modifications on RNA and their role in determining cell identity and functional outcomes.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in RNA biology, Molecular biology, or a related field (Candidates finishing their PhD before February 2024 will be considered)
- Experimental background in RNA biology, molecular biology, or synthetic biology
- Strong expertise in CRISPR-based genome engineering techniques, mammalian cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, FACS, RT-qPCR, and long-read sequencing (e.g., nanopore sequencing)
- Experience in statistical analysis and/or bioinformatics is advantageous
- Excellent English skills for conference presentations and scientific writing
- One or more first authorships in well-respected RNA biology or genomics journals
- Passion for working in a highly interdisciplinary environment
Job Description: The postdoc will be part of a Villum experiment grant and will focus on developing a method for profiling both protein coding RNAs and ncRNAs, assessing their epitranscriptomic status using Nanopore sequencing. The candidate will work on CRISPR engineered cells to dissect how chemical marks regulate RNA abundance across coding and non-coding RNAs. Supervision will be provided by Dr. Jamie Auxillos and co-supervised by Prof. Albin Sandelin. Duties include research within the field and limited teaching.
