Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Material Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Expertise in material characterization, preferably with knowledge of polymer chemistry and material science.
- Familiarity with polymer processing methods (extrusion, compounding) and coating development is advantageous.
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical solutions.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player capable of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Fluent in English with a strong inclination to publish scientific papers and file patents.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will engage in a two-year postdoctoral fellowship, with the possibility of extending to three years. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting literature reviews to stay updated on relevant research.
- Developing detailed work protocols in collaboration with experts.
- Performing laboratory experiments for the synthesis and characterization of coatings, resins, and additives using various lignin fractions.
- Analyzing data and planning subsequent steps in consultation with team members.
- Preparing presentations and reports for meetings.
- Aiming for significant scientific output and patent submissions based on research findings.
- Ensuring compliance with VITO’s Health & Safety Policy throughout all experimental work.
