Eligibility/Qualification:
- Hold a PhD degree in physics or engineering
- Strong background in optics and developing complex microscope hardware
- Experience with building scanning microscopes (STED, confocal) and programming (Python, FPGA) is beneficial
- Excellent spoken and written English skills
- Highly motivated with a drive for independent research
Job Description: As a postdoctoral scientist in the Ries lab, you will collaborate closely with an electrical engineer to develop a fast, simple, and robust 3D and multi-color MINFLUX microscope. Your responsibilities will include prototyping, refining, and testing the microscope design, as well as contributing to the development of instrument control software and electronics. You will work within a team with extensive experience in microscope development, receiving training and supervision throughout the project while maintaining a high level of drive and independence.
