Postdoc Position – 4D-STEM Imaging, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany

Postdoc in Germany

Postdoc Position – 4D-STEM Imaging: The Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons (ER-C) at Forschungszentrum Jülich is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual for a Postdoctoral Research Position focused on advancing cryogenic scanning transmission electron microscopy (cryo-STEM) imaging methods. This position is part of the ERC-funded 4D-BioSTEM synergy project, aiming to develop cutting-edge methodologies for high-contrast, low-dose imaging in cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). The successful candidate will work at the intersection of structural biology and materials science electron microscopy, contributing to the dynamic research consortium 4D-BioSTEM.

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Method Development of Cryogenic 4D-STEM Imaging

Location: Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons (ER-C), Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Masters with subsequent PhD degree in biophysics, biochemistry, molecular or cell biology, or related field. Physics PhDs are particularly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong experimental skills in biophysics, molecular cell biology experiment design, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of physical and/or structural biology electron microscopy techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.
