Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant electrical engineering or applied physics discipline.
  • More than three years of research experience is preferred.
  • Proven knowledge in areas such as radio propagation, antennas, electronics, and signal processing.
  • Proficiency in using scientific and engineering software such as MATLAB, CST, and ADS is advantageous.

Job Description:
The Postdoc position is part of the prestigious PHARA (Phased Array Radar for Atmospheric Research) project, supported by the Dutch Research Council NWO. The role involves:

  • Reviewing existing research on beamforming active array antennas, particularly focusing on polarization purity.
  • Analyzing current techniques and technologies to enhance polarization purity and identifying research gaps.
  • Developing mathematical models to predict polarization behavior in array antennas.
  • Designing conceptual models of active array antennas with polarization purity in focus, utilizing simulation tools for optimization.
  • Fabricating prototype arrays and conducting experimental measurements to validate results.
  • Evaluating integration possibilities into existing communication and radar systems.
