Postdoc Position at Leiden University: The Institute for History at Leiden University is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for a position in the ERC – Starting Grant Research Project: Challenging the Liberal World Order from Within, The Invisible History of the United Nations and the Global South, 1945-1981 (INVISIHIST), supervised by Dr. Alanna O’Malley.

Research Area: History of international relations, decolonization, and the United Nations
Location: Leiden, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree in the history of international relations, decolonization, and/or the United Nations.
- Familiarity with non-Anglophone literature on the UN.
- Fluency in English.
- Teaching experience is preferable.
Job Description:
Postdoc Position – The United Nations beyond the West (0.8 FTE)
- Conduct research on the history of the United Nations in decolonization, economic sovereignty, and human rights.
- Write 1 peer-reviewed article engaging non-Anglophone literature on the UN.
- Manage the production of the project podcast.
- Co-organize workshops/conferences.
- Contribute actively to the project.
Terms and Conditions:
- Position: 0.8 FTE
- Contract until 1 February 2025
- Salary: €3,226 to €4,494 gross monthly (depending on experience)
- Start Date: 1 March 2024
