Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD degree in Physics, Biophysics, Nanoscience, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in nanofabrication and nanofluidics, especially in acoustofluidic devices.
  • Experience with handling and microscopy of biological samples (e.g., liposomes) is a plus.
  • Excellent experimental and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Job Description

The successful candidate will work within the ‘EVOLF from non-life to life’ consortium, focusing on the development of a platform that combines (fluorescence) imaging capabilities with travelling surface acoustic wave actuation for the automated sorting of liposomes. The role involves access to state-of-the-art facilities and collaboration within a vibrant research team of physicists, materials scientists, engineers, and biochemists.

Conditions of Employment

  • Duration of contract: 2.5 years
  • Weekly hours: 36-40 hours
  • Salary range: €3345 – €5278, commensurate with experience.
