Research Area:
Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics, focusing on the integration of LIDAR data for biomass estimation and the development of Earth observation tools.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) and a Ph.D. degree (or near completion) in remote sensing, large-area processing, analysis (including LIDAR and ground/satellite data integration), or a related field.
- Proven international scientific track record in relevant fields.
- Experience with LIDAR data and integration methods, large area Earth observation, AI, data science methods, and uncertainty analysis.
Job Description:
- Conduct innovative research utilizing multiple LIDAR and ground-based data sources for forest height, structure, and biomass estimation.
- Design and perform experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
- Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences and seminars.
- Participate in project meetings and mentor graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate.
