Research Area

The research will focus on the biomedical applications of in-house developed hybrid nanomaterials and nanozymes, as well as colorimetric (nano)diagnostics. You will be a part of the NanoBioInteractions & NanoDiagnostics Research Line coordinated by Prof. Pier Paolo Pompa.

Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and characterizing functional nanomaterials/nanozymes aimed at biomedical applications, from sensing to therapeutics.
  • Exploring the action mechanisms and bio-nano interactions to tailor the properties of nanomaterials/nanozymes for various applications.
  • Integrating the nanomaterials/nanozymes into hybrid multifunctional systems.

Eligibility/Qualification

Essential Requirements:

  • A PhD in Nanomedicine, Nanobiotechnology, Nanochemistry, or related disciplines.
  • Documented experience in nanoparticle synthesis, functionalization, and characterization.
  • Experience in studying nanozymes and their enzyme-like activities.
  • Knowledge of nano-bio interaction studies.
  • A strong publication record.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary international environment.
  • Strong analytical reasoning skills and a growth mindset.

Compensation Package

  • A yearly gross salary between €30,000 and €33,000.
  • Private health care coverage.
  • Tax deductions of up to 90% for eligible candidates conducting research abroad.
