Postdoc Position in Ecosystem Modelling: Join our team at the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) as a Postdoc in the Research Platform “Data Analysis and Simulation“ within the Working Group “Ecosystem Modelling“. Contribute to groundbreaking research initiatives focused on climate change impact assessments and global crop modeling.

Designation: Postdoc (F/M/D)

Research Area: Ecosystem Modelling, Climate Change Impact Assessments, Compound Abiotic Stresses

Location: Müncheberg, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in crop science or agronomy
  • Solid knowledge in crop stress physiology
  • Extensive experience in the development and application of crop models at a large scale
  • Robust experience with R or Python
  • Proven experience in handling big data
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills required

Job Description:

  • Supporting in supervision of PhD candidates in data analysis and field measurements
  • Contributing to global crop model intercomparison initiatives (e.g. AgMIP) through the calibration and execution of the MONICA crop model
  • Assisting in the development of research proposals for major German funding agencies (e.g., DFG), with a focus on climate change impact assessments using process-based crop models, particularly addressing compound abiotic stresses
