Postdoc Position in Immunology: We are offering a one-year postdoctoral position in the field of Immunology (Inflammasome Biology) at the laboratory of Romeo Ricci, located at the IGBMC in Strasbourg, France. The successful candidate will be involved in an exciting research project focusing on the mechanisms underlying membrane recruitment and activation of the inflammasome, with a particular emphasis on altered endomembranes as danger-associated molecular patterns triggering innate immune responses.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Immunology (Inflammasome Biology)
Location: IGBMC (Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology), Strasbourg,
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates shortly after their Ph.D. thesis with expertise in innate immunity (inflammasome biology) and/or cell biology (endosome biology and membrane contact site field) are encouraged to apply.
- Female scientists are particularly encouraged to submit their applications.
- Disabled applicants will be preferentially considered in case of equivalent qualifications.
Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will be part of a core team, collaborating with PhD students and a senior postdoc, investigating the NLRP3 inflammasome’s novel sensing mechanism involving altered endomembranes. The project will encompass a range of cutting-edge approaches, including in vitro reconstitution studies with isolated organelles and artificial liposomes, proteo-lipidomics, cryo-FIB and cryo-ET imaging, molecular modeling, and in vivo testing of the physiological relevance of in vitro findings. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of organelle-generated signals and their role in initiating innate immune responses.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their applications as a single PDF file (not exceeding 10 MB) via email to ricci@igbmc.fr. The application should include the following documents:
- Cover letter expressing interest in the position
- Detailed curriculum vitae (CV)
- Copies of relevant certificates
- Contact information of two referees
Last Date for Apply: The application deadline is 30th September 2023. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, and the recruitment process aims to be concluded by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
