Postdoc Position in In Vitro Toxicology: Join the ETH Laboratory of Toxicology at ETH Zurich, led by Professor Shana Sturla. We are a multidisciplinary team at the chemistry-biology interface, exploring relationships between chemical structures, biomolecular processes, and cellular responses relevant to chemical safety and drug development. We have a postdoctoral opportunity focusing on in vitro toxicology. The research includes evaluating the impact of chemicals on molecular and cellular changes in human cells, advancing the development of new methodologies for toxicological evaluations and chemical safety. Collaboration opportunities in diverse research areas, including DNA damage, mutagenesis, microbial metabolism, and precision medicine, are available.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD or equivalent in toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, molecular or cellular biology, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in cellular and molecular biology techniques, including human cell culture.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Independent, flexible, and motivated to work in an international and team-oriented environment.

Job Description: As a Postdoc in In Vitro Toxicology, your research will involve:

  • Evaluation of the impacts of chemicals on molecular and cellular changes in human cells.
  • Advancement of methodologies for toxicological evaluations and chemical safety.
  • Potential involvement in high content data analysis (e.g., multi-omics, imaging) and computational models.
  • Collaborative research opportunities in DNA damage, mutagenesis, microbial metabolism, and precision medicine.

The initial contract is for 1 year, with the possibility of extension up to 6 years, depending on funding availability.
