Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in microfluidics and fluid mechanics.
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB; experience with Verasonics ultrasound imaging systems is a plus.
- Good communication and writing skills in English.
Job Description
The successful candidate will:
- Investigate acoustic response variations in monodisperse microbubbles upon molecular binding.
- Work with microfabrication, ultrasound imaging, bubble design, and fluid dynamics to enable acoustic discrimination between bound and freely circulating microbubbles.
- Design, fabricate, and characterize viscoelastic capillary phantoms using hydrogel materials and cleanroom techniques.
- Perform acoustic scattering and attenuation measurements.
- Develop imaging and characterization strategies with a Verasonics NXT ultrasound system.
- Collaborate with and potentially supervise PhD students.
