Postdoc Position in Organic Chemistry: The Department of Environmental Chemistry (Uchem) at Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the team for a two-year funded project focusing on Environmental Organic Analytical Chemistry.
Postdoc Position in Environmental Organic Analytical Chemistry
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Environmental Organic Analytical Chemistry, with a focus on non-target screening using high-resolution mass spectrometry combined with chromatography and data mining methods.
Location: Dübendorf, near Zurich.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Doctoral degree in environmental or analytical chemistry, or environmental engineering.
- Strong interest in data sciences and interdisciplinary research.
- Previous hands-on experience with high-resolution mass spectrometry and/or data sciences is advantageous.
- Excellent academic records.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Develop non-target workflows by enhancing analytical and/or data mining methods.
- Contribute to ongoing projects related to the analysis of polar compounds and their transformation products in environmental matrices using LC-HRMS/MS.
- Engage in machine-learning-based hazard prediction and risk assessment studies.
- Conduct practical courses on organic trace analysis at ETH Zurich.
- Supervise master’s students.
