Eligibility/Qualification: We are seeking a creative and ambitious candidate who possesses the following qualifications:
- Completed (or soon to be completed) PhD degree in chemistry.
- An exceptional academic track record, including excellent grades, graduation with honors, and academic awards. Experience in writing manuscripts and proposals.
- Proficiency in synthetic and physical organic chemistry, with experience in DFT considered a plus.
- Laboratory experience in synthetic organic chemistry, including microscale work, work under air-free and moisture-free conditions, and expertise in spectroscopic techniques (NMR, UV/Vis, etc.).
- Skill in designing and planning complex synthetic sequences and developing new concepts.
- Excellent English language skills (both written and oral), with knowledge of German as a plus but not mandatory.
- International mobility.
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Researcher in this fully funded project, sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, synthesizing, and characterizing open-shell molecular fragments of graphene.
- Investigating the properties and π-radical reactivity of these molecules.
- Contributing to the development of novel graphene-based materials.
