Study Area:
The research focuses on the development of new transcriptomic and microscopy tools to explore plant immunity and systemic resistance at a single-cell level. The Canté-Pastor lab aims to understand how plants allow beneficial soil microbes into their roots while fending off pathogens, primarily through the lens of regulatory networks involved in plant-microbe interactions.

Scholarship Description:
The Canté-Pastor lab, opening in October 2024, seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to join their team. This position is flexible in scope but centers on using cutting-edge tools to study tissue-specific immune responses and their effects on plant-microbe interactions in Arabidopsis and tomato. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend workshops or courses to enhance their skills, mentor students, and participate in writing manuscripts and grants.

Eligibility:
Applicants must hold a PhD in plant sciences, molecular biology, omics, or related fields. Essential skills include expertise in plant sciences, molecular biology, microscopy, and/or bioinformatics. A passion for innovation and understanding plant-microbe interactions is crucial. Experience in plant pathology and/or single-cell transcriptomics is a plus. The lab values diversity and encourages candidates from underrepresented groups to apply.
