  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral).

Job Description:
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be involved in developing scalable probabilistic machine learning models and algorithms for representation learning, uncertainty quantification, and model interpretability over extensive datasets, which include sequenced microbial DNA fragments and environmental data. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting original research in probabilistic machine learning focused on generative and Bayesian models.
  • Analyzing large-scale datasets to recover and explore microbial genomes.
  • Collaborating with researchers across disciplines to produce impactful publications.
  • Presenting findings in top-tier international conferences and journals.

This position is part of the VILLUM Synergy project “Illuminating microbial dark matter through data science” and is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement. The desired starting date is August 15, 2025, or soon thereafter.
