Postdoc Position in Quantum Systems: Trinity College Dublin announces a 2-year postdoc position in open quantum systems theory for spin systems at the School of Physics. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A Ph.D. (or a recently submitted thesis awaiting evaluation) in Physics or another related scientific discipline.
  • Understanding of the basic principles of quantum mechanics.
  • Experience in at least one of the programming languages: Python, Julia, FORTRAN, C/C++.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong dedication to advancing the project by proactively developing personal ideas.

Job Description:

Postdoc Position in Open Quantum Systems Theory for Spin Systems at Trinity College Dublin

The postdoc will join the group of Prof. Alessandro Lunghi at the School of Physics, Trinity College Dublin. The appointee will actively contribute to scientific discussions, create a supportive work environment, and be responsible for developing a comprehensive theory of spin coherence in molecular materials. This involves designing novel software integrating ab initio methods and open quantum systems theory, collaborating with experimental collaborators, and publishing papers in high-impact journals. Strong interest and experience in scientific dissemination and outreach are also valued.
