Eligibility/Qualification
- Strong background in biology and engineering (bioengineering, biotechnology, or related fields)
- Solid knowledge of molecular biology and cell culturing, preferably in microphysiological systems
- Experience with primary cell culturing, advanced in vitro models, and epithelial/endothelial barrier characterization
- Skills in iPSC differentiation, optical microscopy, sensor development and integration, and electrophysiology are a plus
- Academic excellence, a professional attitude, self-driven nature, and strong communication skills (fluent in English) are essential
Job Description
- Devise and culture an in vitro 3D human skin model investigating barrier function under various conditions.
- Combine cutting-edge engineering and microfluidic approaches with innovative cellular models for drug testing and fundamental science.
- Optimize sensor technology (e.g., TEER and TEWL) for robust assessment of skin barrier functionality.
- Integrate iPSC-derived sensory neurons to study itch perception.
