Research Area

This position focuses on developing synthetic cells that mimic kidney tubular functions, aiding in improving dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in synthetic cell formulation (liposomes or polymersomes) or cell-free protein expression/engineering.
  • Strong interest in synthetic cells and biomedical device development.
  • Strong communication skills in English (C1 level or higher).

Job Description

  • Formulate synthetic cells with integrated and functional transmembrane organic ion transporters.
  • Develop protein-based sensors for intracellular toxin detection.
  • Integrate synthetic cells on dialysis membranes, progressing towards prototype development.
