Postdoc Position in Tissue Organogenesis, Max Planck Institute, Germany

PhD in Germany, International Max Planck Research School
Postdoc Position in Tissue Organogenesis: The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, Germany, is seeking talented postdoctoral researchers specializing in the mechanisms of tissue organogenesis and repair. The group led by Prof. Dr. Meritxell Huch focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular processes that regulate tissue repair and the emergence of diseases from their deregulation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly interdisciplinary, international, and collaborative research environment.

Postdoc Position in the Mechanisms of Tissue Organogenesis and Repair

Designation

Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)

Research Area

Mechanisms of Tissue Organogenesis and Repair

Location

Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Doctoral degree
  • Experience: Documented experience in molecular, cell culture, and in vivo techniques (e.g., tissue culture, mouse models, FACS, genome-wide and omics approaches)
  • Research Background: Beneficial experience in epigenetics, metabolism, cell biology, cell-matrix, or cell-adhesion
  • Skills: Excellent communication and data presentation skills

Job Description

Successful candidates will investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms regulating tissue repair and the emergence of diseases, with a focus on fibrosis and cancer. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Studying epigenetic and transcriptional reprogramming in regenerative states
  • Exploring gene regulation and metabolic rewiring in tissue dynamics
  • Investigating cell-cell interactions between stromal and epithelial cells to understand their role in regeneration and quiescence
  • Analyzing cell adhesion and cell matrix interactions to identify the direct players involved in tissue regulation

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit the following application materials:

  • Cover letter indicating previous research accomplishments and motivation to apply
  • CV
  • Names of potential references or two letters of recommendation

Applications should be submitted online via the following link: Max Planck Institute Application, stating the code 2024-Postdoc-TissueMechanics-1110.
