Postdoc Position (m/f/d) : The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) in Martinsried, one of the world’s leading research institutions in biochemistry, cell and structural biology, and biomedical research, is offering a Postdoc Position in the Department of Cell and Virus Structure. The successful candidate will work with Dr. John Briggs and contribute to the development and application of cryo-electron microscopy and image processing techniques. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in computational sciences, physics, biophysics, or a related field
  • Strong interest in the theory and methods of cryo-electron microscopy and image analysis
  • Experience in computational image analysis
  • Knowledge of classical or machine learning approaches to image analysis

Job Description: The selected Postdoc will have the following responsibilities:

  • Developing theoretical frameworks and computational tools for image analysis of cryo-electron microscopy data
  • Applying classical or machine learning approaches to image analysis
  • Collaborating with a vibrant research community and utilizing state-of-the-art cryo-electron microscopy facilities and image analysis resources
  • Contributing to scientific publications and presentations
  • Engaging in scientific discussions and attending relevant conferences
