PostDoc Position on Advanced Optics: The BIOS group at the University of Twente is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral researcher to join their team and contribute to the development of a label-free characterization platform for single (bio)molecules and nanoparticles. The research will focus on building a widefield interferometric scattering (iSCAT) microscope for optical signal readouts.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Bionanoscience, or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced label-free interferometric imaging techniques like iSCAT, COBRI, iSCAMS, or HiSCAT.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with a creative mindset and good team spirit.
  • Proficiency in English is required.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop new single-molecule optical imaging techniques.
  • Build and optimize a widefield iSCAT microscope to analyze optical signals from gold nanogap electrodes.
  • Conduct research in a collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities and labs.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary projects that contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of advanced optics and dielectrophoresis.
