Job Description
The successful candidate will work on a project in close collaboration with industrial partner Alquion. The primary goal is to understand the mechanical behavior of polymers used in alkaline electrolyzers over a 10-20 year lifetime. Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating the long-term performance of selected engineering thermoplastics.
- Developing accurate models to predict mechanical failure and durability.
- Assessing material degradation caused by high temperatures, sustained mechanical stress, and the chemical environment of potassium hydroxide (KOH).
- Contributing to the development of lightweight, injection-molded polymer components for large-scale hydrogen production reactors.
Conditions of Employment
- Duration: Full-time employment for 1 year.
- Salary: Scale 10, ranging from €4,422 to €5,760 gross base salary per month.
