Postdoc Position – Viral Insulin: The Altindis Lab at the Boston College Biology Department is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow for a translational research project focused on studying viral insulin/IGF-1-like peptides (VILPs) and their role in the insulin/IGF-1 signaling system, growth, and cancer progression. This project, funded by an upcoming NIH R01 grant, aims to understand the mechanism of action of VILPs inhibiting the IGF-1 receptor (IGF1R) and translate findings into breast and prostate cancer research.
Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow
Research Area: Viral Insulin/IGF-1-like Peptides and IGF1R Inhibition
Location: Altindis Lab, Boston College Biology Department, Boston
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Metabolism, Physiology, or a related field.
- Experience in basic molecular biology methods, working with mice, cancer cell lines, xenograft models, mammalian cell culture, and transfection.
- Familiarity with AAV-8 vectors, lentivirus transfection, and basic insulin/IGF action experiments.
- Demonstrated scientific excellence with a publication track record.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
