Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Mathematical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- Strong background in machine learning/data science.
- Deep knowledge of neural network architectures (e.g., PINNs, neural operators, transformers).
- Proficiency in Python (C++ or Julia is a plus).
- Familiarity with scientific computing libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, JAX) and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch).
- Flexibility to adapt to different application fields.
- Independence, strong time management, professionalism, and commitment to research quality.
Job Description:
- Contribute to the ERC-funded project โALPS – AI-based Learning for Physical Simulation.โ
- Develop and implement algorithms for the data-driven discovery of physical models.
- Apply algorithms to various fields, including robotic control, mechanics of materials, fluid mechanics, and biological systems, in collaboration with researchers and industry partners.
- Work within the Computational Physics and Machine Learning Lab led by Prof. Alessandro Lucantonio.
