Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in corrosion science, materials science and engineering, metallurgical, chemical, or a closely related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in corrosion research of light metal alloys and mitigation strategies.
  • Proficient in electrochemical analyses (e.g., PDP, EIS) and optionally surface analysis methods (e.g., SEM, XRD, XPS, AFM).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to research.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.

Job Description

As a postdoc researcher, you will:

  • Investigate corrosion mechanisms in aqueous environments using electrochemical and surface analysis techniques.
  • Adapt and design experimental setups to replicate reactor conditions.
  • Evaluate corrosion prevention and mitigation strategies developed by NRG.
  • Prepare technical reports on corrosion mechanisms and mitigation results.
  • Actively participate in MAGIC-RR consortium meetings and collaborate closely with NRG and other partners.
  • Contribute to publications and mentor MSc students within the MSE department.
