Eligibility & Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements

  • Completed doctoral degree (PhD) in Computer Science, Informatics, or a closely related field.
  • Documented advanced knowledge and expertise in Applied Mathematics and Cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated experience with R&D projects related to cybersecurity.
  • Experience in knowledge transfer and science communication in the cybersecurity domain.
  • High proficiency in German (spoken and written).

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with additional applications of discrete mathematics in cybersecurity (software security/testing, cyber crisis management, or complex systems).
  • Project management experience in research and development initiatives.
  • Track record in organizing the scientific aspects of science communication and knowledge transfer events.
  • Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, teamwork, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • High motivation to engage with diverse stakeholder groups and communities on non-technical awareness and knowledge-transfer levels.

  • Mathematical Modeling: Apply mathematical modeling approaches to cyber crisis scenarios, cybersecurity exercises, and related activities.
  • Scenario & Exercise Design: Design, develop, and execute realistic cybersecurity scenarios for training exercises and simulations.
  • Workshops & Education: Create and deliver cybersecurity workshops along with high-quality educational materials tailored to target audiences.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Participate in science communication, public awareness, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
