Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Education: PhD degree in Chemistry/Chemometrics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry/Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fields.
  • Research Experience: Experience in material characterization, chemometrics, and sustainable system modeling.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques for analyzing polymers and contaminants (e.g., FTIR, UV-VIS, DSC, Raman spectroscopy).
  • Strong computational skills in data analysis and modeling (e.g., Python for chemometrics).
  • Familiarity with additional analytical techniques (e.g., MS-based techniques, GPC, SEM).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage research independently.

Job Description:

The postdoctoral researcher will focus on:

  • Conducting comprehensive material characterization, particularly concentrating on plastic additives and contaminants.
  • Developing flow models utilizing characterization data to optimize the plastic value chain.
  • Collaborating with faculty, PhD students, and the multidisciplinary team to enhance quality-driven recycling approaches.
  • Actively contributing to the PlastiCycle 4.0 project and its objectives related to sustainability and economic growth.
