Postdoctoral Position - 2019 in Netherlands, Delft University of Technology

Postdocs and Graduate Students: Join our dynamic and collaborative research team that focuses on the highest international level of research in biophysics and synthetic biology. We are currently offering several postdoc and graduate student positions in varied areas of study, including in vitro studies of entropic segregation of chromosomes, synthetic genome development for synthetic cells, in vitro reconstitution of the archaeal CDV system for cell division, RNA-mediated cell division, developing microfluidic circuitry for synthetic cells on chip, SMC-induced DNA loop extrusion, and single-protein dynamics studies with the NEOtrap.

Postdocs and Graduate Students in Cutting-Edge Biophysics and Synthetic Biology

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellows and Graduate Students

Research Area: Biophysics and Synthetic Biology

Location: Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands

Eligibility/Qualification: We are seeking outstanding experimentalists with a passion for cutting-edge research in biophysics and synthetic biology. Experience in fields such as biophysics, single-molecule techniques, synthetic cells, optical imaging, nanosciences, and molecular/cellular biology is welcome. We especially encourage diversity in applications and female candidates are particularly invited to apply.

Job Description: Successful candidates will work on projects involving entropic segregation, single molecule optical visualization, long-DNA synthesis and manipulation, micro/nanofluidics, minimal genome and gene circuit design for synthetic cells, in vitro reconstitution of the archaeal CDV system for cell division, RNA origami, cell-shape deformation and division, minimal divisome, synthetic cells, microfluidics, microfabrication, traps, directed evolution, AI, synthetic cells, liposomes, chromosome biophysics, fluorescence, molecular motors, and studies on solid-state nanopores, protein dynamics, and biophysics using the NEOtrap.

How to Apply: Interested applicants are invited to submit an email including a cover letter, CV with a publication list, and names/email addresses of 3 or more references to Professor Cees Dekker. Your cover letter and CV may be internally shared with CDlab group members for review.
