Summary: A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Prasad’s lab at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, to study the structural biology of viruses and viral proteins using a combination of biochemical techniques, X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM), and cryo-electron tomography (cryoET). The focus will be on understanding the mechanisms underlying virus entry, antibody neutralization, replication, morphogenesis, and pathogenesis.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in protein expression and purification, enzyme kinetics, drug design, X-ray crystallography, single-particle cryoEM, and computational biology.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Job Description:

  • Perform biochemical and functional characterization of specimens.
  • Engage in all aspects of structure determination using cryoEM/cryoET techniques focused on viral study.
