Postdoctoral Associate at Better Planet Laboratory: The Better Planet Laboratory at CU Boulder is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate. This is a 2-year position under the leadership of Zia Mehrabi. The role involves contributing to the design, testing, and deployment of machine learning and data science solutions, data visualization, analyses, and insights generation to address development challenges for a better and fairer planet. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD Requirement: PhD in data science, statistics, earth sciences, mathematics, or engineering-related fields.
- Programming Skills: Very high proficiency in applied programming in Python (and/or R), including standard geospatial packages and machine learning tools.
- Data Analysis: Experience with manipulation and analysis of various data types, including surveys and satellite imagery. Working with SQL and no SQL databases is a plus.
- Computing Skills: Working knowledge of parallel and high-performance computing locally and in the cloud. Experience with Google Earth Engine and/or Microsoft’s Planetary Computer is a plus.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Associate will work closely with Dr. Zia Mehrabi to design machine learning pipelines for learning and inference, deliver data products and services for analysis, conduct statistical analyses for reports and communication materials, maintain code bases and reproducible workflows, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for application design.
