Research Area:

The focus of the research encompasses advanced bioengineering projects, particularly the development and application of 3D bioprinting techniques to replicate human organ structures, as well as exploring organoid cultures and organ-on-chip technologies.

Location:

Farmington, Connecticut – The JAX Genomic Medicine facility is located on the campus of the University of Connecticut Health Center.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in cell and tissue engineering, and biomedical engineering.
  • Preferred experience in microfabrication, 3D printing/bioprinting, immunoengineering, and cell biology.
  • At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals related to bioprinting.

Job Description:

As a Postdoctoral Associate, you will:

  • Lead research projects that leverage 3D bioprinting and organ-on-chip technologies.
  • Collaborate with experts in bioengineering, biology, immunology, microbiology, and clinical research.
  • Engage in innovative research that aims to understand human disease through the development of functional organ-level tissues.
  • Utilize advanced technologies including organoid culture, microbiome sequencing, and single-cell transcriptomics.
