Postdoctoral Associate – Biomaterials: The Shields Lab at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Colorado Boulder, is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in the field of Biomaterials, Drug Delivery, and Immunoengineering. The successful candidate will work on designing drug-loaded nanoparticles targeting immune cells in whole blood to address osteoarthritis. This collaborative research effort, led by Prof. Stephanie J. Bryant, involves interdisciplinary work with engineers, biologists, clinicians, and veterinarians.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. degree in chemical and biological engineering, materials science, chemistry, immunology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline by the time of appointment.
  • Expertise in two or more of the following areas: immunoengineering, nanomedicine, cell-based therapies, cancer research, and biomaterials.
  • Background in or strong familiarity with immunoengineering, biomaterials, and animal models is preferred.
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, PCR, ELISA, tumor inoculation, tail vein injection, and blood draws.
  • Familiarity with nanoparticle synthesis is a strength, but not a requirement.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Track record of publication in high-impact journals.

Salary: The salary range is between $60,000 and $80,000 annually, commensurate with prior postdoctoral or related experience.
