Postdoctoral Associate – Cell and Molecular Biology
The Hinson Lab at The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine is seeking an independent and highly motivated PhD-level scientist for a transcontinental research collaboration funded by the Human Frontiers Science Program. The successful candidate will investigate the mechanisms and rules governing sarcomere assembly and function using human pluripotent stem cells and advanced structural biology techniques.

Eligibility and Qualifications
- PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
- Research experience in at least two of the following areas: pluripotent stem cell biology and differentiation, advanced microscopy, genome editing, and proteomics.
- A publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with an international research team.
- Experience with R, Python, or a similar statistical package is helpful.
- Experience in proteomics data analysis and bioinformatics is advantageous.
Job Description
The selected researcher will join the Hinson Lab and contribute to an international HFSP-funded project focused on defining the mechanisms of sarcomere assembly and function. The work will combine human pluripotent stem cell technology with advanced structural biology methods.
The postdoctoral associate will have access to a consortium of specialists in pluripotent stem cell biology, three-dimensional organoid and microtissue assays, super-resolution microscopy, and structural biology. The Hinson Lab uses stem cell biology, tissue engineering, genome editing, and multi-omics approaches to investigate inherited heart failure and other muscle disorders.

Salary placement is based on the candidate’s years of postdoctoral experience.
