Postdoctoral Associate – Chemical Biology: Be a pioneer in joining Dr. Aaron’s Wright biomedical research group at the Department of Biology in Waco, TX, United States. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate with expertise in Chemical Biology and/or Organic Chemistry. Dr. Wright’s group is dedicated to phenotype-driven studies of the gut microbiome and other complex biological systems, focusing on the synthesis and application of chemical probes. We are looking for individuals with a Ph.D. and a background in chemical biology or organic chemistry to contribute to our dynamic research environment.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Candidates must have or be in pursuit of a PhD in chemical biology, organic chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Independent design and execution of experiments within the field of expertise.
- Additional skills in areas such as application of chemical molecules/tools to biological systems, biochemistry, microbiology, protein expression, cell culture, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, and/or functional assays are of interest.
- Ability to collaboratively develop novel ideas and methods for applications relevant to research programs.
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will:
- Develop and execute independent research in phenotype-driven microbiome studies.
- Perform laboratory research using chemical biology, organic chemistry, microbiology, and molecular techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of experiment results, document methods and processes.
- Present research in group meetings and at national and international conferences.
- Provide mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students.
- Participate in proposal writing and submission processes.
- Implement research quality control procedures and verify data accuracy.
- Work with highly technical and complex research instruments.
- Perform all other duties assigned to support Baylor’s mission and comply with university policies.
