Eligibility/Qualification
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience and expertise in glycobiology, biochemistry of carbohydrates, and analytical chemistry of carbohydrates.
- PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physics, Material Science, or a related field.
Job Description
The postdoctoral researcher will develop and utilize advanced mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) methods to analyze sugars, glycans, and glycoconjugates. Responsibilities include:
- Advancing MSI approaches for characterizing glycome chemistry at cellular resolution.
- Utilizing EMSL’s high-resolution MS instruments for diverse applications.
- Understanding the glycome’s role in cellular functions and interwoven pathways.
Candidates should have a strong background in MS carbohydrate analysis, glycobiology, and effective communication skills. Experience in teamwork in interdisciplinary and inter-institutional settings is preferred.
