Eligibility/Qualification

  • Required Qualifications:
  • PhD in single cell, tissue/organ, and in vivo cardiac electrophysiology, molecular biology, genetics, or related biomedical sciences. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment, with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
  • Strong training in electrophysiology, molecular biology, animal studies, biochemical, and histological assays.
  • Demonstrated publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ability to participate in conferences, write a post-doctoral fellowship application, engage in collaborations, and assist in training undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cardiac electrophysiology, cell cultures, ECG telemetry, optical mapping, and Matlab.

Job Description

The selected candidate will test a novel hypothesis related to structural integrity and its role in protecting against arrhythmogenic conduction slowing. Responsibilities include:

  • Optically mapping genetically engineered monogenic mutant mouse hearts
  • Utilizing transmission and super-resolution microscopy
  • Conducting telemetry studies
  • Perfusing novel peptide interventions to assess their impact on arrhythmogenic conduction

The fellow is expected to publish a primary research manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal within two years and submit one post-doctoral fellowship application.
