Postdoctoral Research Associate in Large-scale Simulations of the E. coli Cell Envelope

Designation: Postdoctoral Research Associate

Research Area: Large-scale molecular dynamics simulations, computational Biochemistry, biophysics, and chemistry.

Location: Oxford, UK

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in computational Biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in setting up, running, and analyzing molecular dynamics simulations.
  • Expertise in simulations of large multicomponent systems, both at atomistic and coarse-grain levels.
  • Collaborative research experience is highly desirable.

Job Description:

  • Conduct large-scale molecular dynamics simulations of portions of the bacterial cell envelope.
  • Work collaboratively with experimental labs in Oxford and at the Rosalind Franklin Institute.
  • Contribute to a broader initiative funded by an EPSRC Established Career fellowship.
  • Engage in data analysis and interpretation to advance the understanding of bacterial cell envelopes.
  • Participate in lab meetings, contribute to publications, and present findings at conferences.
