Postdoctoral Associate in Chemical/Petroleum Engineering: The Little Lab at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a Postdoctoral Associate position. This individual will contribute to ongoing research in the development and characterization of microparticles, hydrogels, and other formulations.

Eligibility/Qualification:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering, Biological Sciences, or a related field. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to independently plan, conduct, and analyze research experiments, a track record of scientific publications, and effective communication skills.
Job Description:
- Design and execute experiments to develop microparticles, hydrogels, and other formulations.
- Characterize formulated systems through techniques such as particle size analysis, drug loading efficiency, and in vitro release studies.
- Conduct detailed physicochemical and biological evaluations to assess the performance and efficacy of developed delivery systems.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and contribute to preparing scientific publications and grant proposals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including immunologists, surgeons, and engineers, to integrate diverse expertise into research projects.
- Mentor and supervise laboratory technicians and graduate and undergraduate students involved in related research activities.
- Prepare and submit reports for funding sources, including the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Health (ARPA-H), detailing project progress and outcomes.
