Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD in a relevant discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Experience in handling active materials or planning and performing irradiation campaigns with neutrons or charged particles.
- Proven experience in characterisation of materials using various analytical techniques.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and research excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality independent research with limited supervision.
- Track record of academic publications and conference presentations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
Job Description
As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will:
- Collaborate with materials modelling experts in the design and testing of new materials for fusion reactors.
- Plan and conduct experimental materials testing and characterisation.
- Engage in synthesis of improved materials and understand neutron and ion irradiation damage.
- Work closely with both UNSW and ANSTO research groups and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Access state-of-the-art facilities including the OPAL Research Reactor.
