Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Geophysics, Geodesy, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Computer/Data Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Earth Sciences, or related field.
- Proficiency in a technical programming language (e.g., IDL, Python, Matlab, C++).
- Experience with geodetic analysis, finite element modeling, and high-performance computing is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership, self-motivation, and creative thinking.
- Prior teaching and academic writing experience are beneficial.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Jay Sui Tung in the GeoModeling Lab. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting interdisciplinary research in numerical modeling and probabilistic analysis for tsunami and earthquake studies.
- Collaborating with lab members and graduate students on various projects.
- Developing peer-reviewed articles, conference proceedings, and grant proposals.
- Fostering an inclusive and diverse research environment.
