Eligibility/Qualification
- Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a relevant subject area (or be close to completion).
- Experience in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry, including:
- Compound optimization for in vivo proof of concept studies
- De novo drug design/development
- At least two of the following: asymmetric synthesis, chemical biology, amino acid chemistry, nucleotide chemistry, sugar/amino sugar chemistry
- Expertise in modern organic synthesis and a strong working knowledge of medicinal chemistry.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Manage their own academic research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management.
- Coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
- Test hypotheses and analyze scientific data from various sources.
- Review and refine working hypotheses as appropriate.
The position is available as soon as possible for a period of up to 2 years under the supervision of Professor Angela Russell.
