Postdoctoral Associate in Modeling Hydrogen: The Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford is inviting applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Hydrogen-assisted fracture modeling. The successful candidate will join Prof. Emilio Martinez-Panedaâs research group, the Mechanics of Materials Lab, for a fixed-term period funded by Shell for 12 months or until December 31, 2024. - Conduct finite element analyses to predict material and component failure due to hydrogen-assisted cracking.
- Develop a sound understanding of fracture mechanics and utilize sophisticated calculations alongside analytical methods.
- Use computational tools such as COMSOL or ABAQUS, and potentially in-house or open-source codes.
- Tackle both fundamental and applied problems, engaging in collaborative work within the research group.
- Submit publications to reputed journals and liaise with academic collaborators and sponsors.
