Eligibility / Qualification
- Required Qualifications:
- Completed a relevant Ph.D. degree in structural biology, chemical biology, or organic/medicinal chemistry.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong skills in RNA biology techniques, molecular biology, and biochemical methods.
- Previous experience with RNA-seq data analysis, DNA encoded library design and screening, and structure-based design.
- Highly motivated with a strong academic track record and a high-impact publication list.
- Team-player mentality and a willingness to learn new experimental methods.
Job Description
The successful candidate will join the highly prolific Disney lab to work on ambitious chemical biology projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing rational approaches to design selective therapeutics from genome sequences.
- Studying diseases mediated by RNA repeat expansions (such as genetically defined ALS and dementia).
- Working on targeted RNA degradation and related technologies.
- Developing precision targeted therapeutics for difficult-to-treat cancers and other diseases.
- Engaging in a customized training plan and high-impact research project designed to support both short-term and long-term career goals.
