Eligibility/Qualification

  • Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • No prior postdoctoral experience required.

Skills Required

  • Expertise in nanofiber fabrication techniques (e.g., forcespinning, electrospinning, melt-blowing).
  • Strong background in structure-property relationships of polymer and composite materials.
  • Knowledge of advanced materials characterization techniques (SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, rheology).
  • Experience with composite materials processing and hierarchical material design.
  • Solid chemistry background, particularly in polymer and surface chemistry.
  • Knowledge of computational modeling related to fiber formation and mechanics (preferred).
  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Design, fabricate, and characterize nanofiber-based membranes tailored for specific applications.
  • Analyze structure-property relationships in composite nanofiber systems to enhance performance.
  • Lead research projects and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to publications and grant writing.
  • Ensure lab safety and maintain research documentation per university policies.
  • Prepare research findings for publication in high-impact journals and present results at conferences.
