Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD in Microbiology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Isolation/cultivation of anaerobes and/or phages
    • Anaerobic techniques
    • Functional genomics
    • Sequencing technologies
    • High-throughput assay development
    • Bioinformatics
    • Analytical chemistry (LC-MS, HPLC)
    • Microbial genetics
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time-management, organizational, and communication skills.

Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Associate will join Dr. Yolanda Huang’s lab, focusing on discovering new functions encoded among gut anaerobic bacteria and bacteriophages. The role involves utilizing cutting-edge techniques, such as DNA barcoding and high-throughput functional genomics, to explore bacteria-phage interactions and their impact on bacterial physiology and microbial composition dynamics.
